Dr. Thomas Brewer Memorial Dog Park
A much needed dog park was generously donated to Manner’s Park by Bonita Brewer in memory of her late husband Dr. Thomas E. Brewer. This dog park includes two separate areas, one for small dogs and one for large dogs. Both areas include benches for pet parents to sit at, a variety of obstacles and fixtures to keep dogs entertained, high fences, water fountains for both pets and parents, a covered pavilion, pet waste bags/disposal stations, and the side for small dogs features 2 pet swings.
To obtain access to the park:
Registration forms are available in the Manners Park office. Provide the requested information and attach your dog’s current vaccination record.
Return the forms and vaccination record to the park office in person or mail to Taylorville Park District, PO Box 263, Taylorville Il , 62568.
Fee is $20.00 per year per household. Cash or check payable to Taylorville Park District.
Once all information and fee are submitted, you may choose between two methods to open the Dog Park gate. (The Dog Park is locked at all times.)
- Mobile access from your smart phone. The park office staff will send an invitation to your email from “Elements” (electronic access software). If you do not see the invitation in your inbox, please check your spam folder. You will be directed to answer two questions to establish your access. You must be within 20 feet of the Dog Park gate to open it. You will scan yourself and your dog into and out of the park. Note: the invitation cannot be forwarded to another person.

- Pass Card: the park office staff will prepare a plastic card for you to use to scan you and your dog into and out of the park. There will be an additional $20.00 fee for lost or additional cards.
The mobile app and the pass card will expire one year from the date the fee was paid. You will not have access to the park until the fee is paid for the following year.
Dog Park Rules
- The Dr. Thomas Brewer Memorial Dog Park is unsupervised, and participants enter at their own risk.
- Limit two dogs per person while in the enclosure.
- The dog park is divided to accommodate large and small dogs.
- Dogs should be always in close range and within voice control.
- Owners must clean up their dog’s waste and dispose of it in appropriate containers.
- No tobacco, vaping or smoking of any kind.
- Children under 10 years of age should be supervised.
- Dog Park hours are: 5 AM to 11 PM.
